Wildcats celebrate senior runners
WOODWARD TOWNSHIP, PA – It was a special night on Tuesday as the Wildcats recognized their senior cross-country runners before their quad meet with Milton, Warrior Run, and Central Columbia. On the girls’ side, Sofia Dressler and Gracie Johnson raced for the last time at LHU’s Stern Athletic Complex.
Coach Scott Bair had nothing but great things to say about his senior girls. “Sofia and Gracie have meant so much to this team. Sofia has been running xc since 7th grade. She has always pushed herself to the limit and I appreciate her commitment to this team. Gracie joined the team as a junior and has been a great addition to the team. She is fun and free spirited and knows how to make everyone around her laugh and have a good time.
Most importantly, Sofia and Gracie are great young ladies that I am honored to have had the opportunity to get to know. We are going to miss them.”
As a team, the girls ran well. They defeated Milton but lost the meet to Warrior Run and Central Columbia. Grace Keohane, Abrianna Hosley, Gracie Johnson, Adrian Samaniego, Sage Rippey, and Kennedy Metzger all hit new PR’s for the efforts. The Wildcats travel to Hershey on Saturday for the 17th PIAA Foundational XC Invitational.
On the boys’ side, Robbie Andrews and Nick Piergallini raced for the last time at LHU’s Stern Athletic Complex. Coach Bair had nothing but great things to say about his senior boys. “Robbie and Nick have meant so much to this team. They have pushed themselves to achieve many PR’s. They have worked very hard over the last two seasons that I have been coaching. They are both great young men that are very respectful, kind, coachable, and hard working. We are going to miss them.”
