Obituary – Mark J. “Rock” Morocko
Mark J. “Rock” Morocko, 58 of Renovo passed away in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
Mark was born on April 10, 1965, and is survived by his parents John “Jay” Morocko and Victoria “Vickie” (Javornick) Morocko of West Renovo.
Also surviving are his adoring daughter Mariah Morocko of Renovo, a stepson, Tanner Riggle of Ft. Cavazos, TX, a brother Keith J. (Jennifer) Morocko of Boalsburg, and a sister Monica J. (Thomas) Fox of Leesburg, VA. In addition, Mark is also survived by his loving nephews and nieces, Jake, Luke, Olivia Morocko, and Sophia and Katerina Fox. He was preceded in death by a sister Michelle Lynne Morocko.
Mark was a 1983 graduate of Bucktail Area High School. He was employed by Speno/Pandrol Jackson Rail Fastening Systems for more than 15 years as the train supervisor. His most recent employment was with Patriot Tree Service and his last deployment was for a hurricane/storm watch in New England. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy.
“Rock” was known for his work ethic, genuine smile, practical jokes, and witty sense of humor. He made everyone laugh and loved entertaining friends and family with his guitar, keyboard, and harmonica.
Mark was passionate about riding his Harley Davidson in the beautiful mountains of Pennsylvania and died doing one of the things he loved most. He also enjoyed following Central Mountain, Bucktail, and Penn State wrestling. He was an avid Steelers and Penn State football fan. He treasured spending time outdoors, hunting, and rock and roll! Mark will be remembered most for his genuine heart, larger-than-life personality, abundant generosity, and free spirit. Mark was truly one of a kind.
A service to honor Mark’s life will be held on Friday, September 22 at the Maxwell Funeral Home located at 205 Fifth St. Renovo, PA. Friends and relatives will be received from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service with Martha Sykes officiating.
