“Eat to live, live to eat”

LOCK HAVEN, PA – After a long day cooking a meal for yourself or a family can just seem like a chore. Just something else to cross off your list of “stuff I did today.” Wouldn’t it be easier for someone cooked for you, you enjoyed the food, and it was healthy and nutritious?
Enter: Eat for Life Nutrition.

“We are a meal prep service making prepared meals for our customers every week,” said Jordan Lamey, co-owner and founder, along with his wife, Jenna.

Every week is something different, with new meal options available for purchase Sunday – Wednesday and then ready for distribution on Saturday.

“We both have had our own health journey,” said Jordan. “We had our weight struggles over the years, we are married with two young daughters and full-time day jobs, so we have time constraints and meal prepping is something we both fell in love with, along with eating healthy and learning how to make it taste good.”
When it comes to healthy food, most of it is just too plain and lacks spice and taste.

“People don’t stick with plain because it doesn’t taste good…we both lost weight and have had our health journeys, I have a Nutrition Coaching certification so I have the knowledge now to make our own meals, so I was able to mix nutrition coaching with meal preparation,” said Jordan.

For Jenna, it started with making meals and social media.

“I would post on social media what I was making for dinner, and Jordan would jokingly tell me that “no one wants to see our food,” but people were commenting and complimenting us saying it looks so good, and that I should meal prep for them,” Jenna explained.

Shortly after those comments Jenna began to ask others who reached out to her if they were serious about the meal prep comment.

“I started to do a little prep on the side with friends and everyone gave me really good feedback on the food, so I thought “why not make it official and get it established,” she said.
With Jenna’s career in the financial sector and Jordan’s career as an engineer, they had very little free time to begin another journey.

“It took a lot of time for us to get it up and running,” Jenna said. “We cook out of the kitchen at the Fallon Hotel, prep and cook, and we are so happy that we were able to partner with them. We have three distributions; Lock Haven, Jersey Shore, and Williamsport.”

Each week, enough meals and snacks are prepared to cover a full day’s worth of nutritious eating.
“For breakfast we like to try to keep it a little on the sweeter, savory side like overnight oats, with a soup or side option for lunch, we like working with carrots and hummus and potentially a fruit, with a tasty dinner entrée option,” Jenna described.

Jenna and Jordan’s goal for their community is simple: to get people to eat-in, try healthier options that taste good, help curb the nationwide obesity epidemic, and to make their community and area healthier.

“We want to teach people that they can have food that tastes good and is healthy,” said Jordan. “We would love to have our own storefront where people can come in, watch us cook and prepare food, order at the counter, teach cooking classes and fun baking classes, and to empower others.”

Jordan and Jenna are also natives of Loganton and Jersey Shore, respectively.

“We try to support our local businesses by ordering ingredients locally, sourcing our meat from local farms, and even trying a seasonal menu with what is currently in season that we can find in our community so we can promote where we get our ingredients from,” said Jordan.

“And I would be remiss if I did not mention that we used Strata Creative for our website, branding, marketing, and logo,” Jordan said. “He’s been awesome for us and helping us get off the ground.”
