Keystone 11s come from behind again, take sectional title

DANVILLE, PA – The Keystone 11-year-old all-stars play their best in extra-innings. For the second game in a row Keystone had to come from behind on Monday, pulling out a 6-2, seven-inning win over Berwick/Bloomsburg in the Section 13 championship game played in Danville.

Keystone fell behind 2-0 after three innings and tied things up at 2-each with two in the fourth.  The game stayed that way into the seventh inning when coach Tony Miller’s team put up four runs to earn the win and a berth in the state Little League tournament starting Saturday. The state tournament this season is hosted by East Side Little League in West Chester.

Keystone out-hit their opponents but a 10 to three clip as three Keystone hurlers were solid. Ehan Nestor went two innings, giving up no hits but two runs, Mack Packer hurled an inning and gave up two hits and no runs. And Carter Miller finished with four innings of one-hit, scoreless ball, walking two and striking out seven to earn the win.

Drayton Packer, Abel Jarrells and Austin Dupert all had two hits, Jarrells with an RBI and Dupert with two. Brayden Wolfgang had a key double and two RBIs and singles came from Miller, Chase Karstetter and Mack Packer, Karstetter with an RBI.
