County commissioners ok ARP money grants to 45 county businesses

LOCK HAVEN, PA – A brief Clinton County Commissioners’ meeting on Thursday saw the commissioners approve $170,000 in small business grants to 45 county small businesses. The amount of the grants ranged from $600 up to a maximum of $10,000.

The county had first announced the grant program on May 1. Board chairman Miles Kessinger said at the time that some of the county’s remaining American Rescue Plan dollars would be used. He said the grants would be intended for recent business start-ups, those preparing to open and those which suffered financial difficulty during the COVID pandemic; he said at the time the county “wants to get it out on the street.” He said the grants would be only for businesses which had not received previous COVID-related grant relief.

Thursday commissioner Angela Harding said she was “excited and proud” to help county small businesses. The grants were unanimously approved by all three commissioners.
