Words of Grace – Jan. 15, 2015

WordsOfGraceHistory clearly indicates what the Bible states, that kings and kingdoms come and go. The gospel song reminds us: “Kings and kingdoms will all pass away.”

But, according to the Word of God, there is a King whose kingdom will never pass away. That is Jesus Christ. “He is Lord of lords, and King of Kings” (Revelation 17:14). His name is “King of kings, and Lord of lords” (19:16).

The day is coming when the announcement will be made: “The Kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever” (Revelation 11:15).

Napoleon Bonaparte, the cruel and revengeful general, was known to have brought down many kings and kingdoms in his day. He was finally defeated, but as Evangelist John Hamilton points out:

“Our King Jesus shall never know defeat. He shall continue his conquest over mountains that have baffled the great warriors, and he shall leap the deepest seas with his royal scepter. He shall proclaim the kingdoms of this world to be his own.”

The evangelist says that it will be “in that day knees shall bow to him that will not do so now; tongues that will not confess him now shall confess him as Lord to the glory of God.”
