Central Mountain grad Fisher named to AMCC Softball All-Conference Team

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference recently announced its postseason softball awards and eight Penn State Altoona student-athletes were voted to spots on the all-conference team, tying for the most in program history. The selections included Central Mountain High School graduate Alyssa Fisher, who earned a third team berth. For Fisher it was her second all-star team selection in two years at Penn State Altoona.

Fisher started all 37 of the Lions’ games this season and produced another strong year. She led the AMCC in runs scored (40) and hits (50) while ranking third in doubles (11), fourth in total bases (70), sixth in triples (3), ninth in walks (12), 15th in home runs (1), 18th in slugging percentage, 20th in batting average (.360), 21st in on-base percentage (.408), 22nd in RBI (19), and 28th in stolen bases (3). In the field, Fisher was ninth in the conference in assists (47).

This is the second straight season that Fisher has received All-AMCC recognition, after being a second-team selection as a pitcher last spring. This season saw her playing second base.

Leading the group was sophomore right-handed pitcher Madison Peters (Bellefonte, PA/Bald Eagle), who was chosen as the AMCC’s Pitcher of the Year. Peters, junior catcher Cameryn Feathers (Martinsburg, PA/Central), sophomore third baseman Hanna Lauck (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte), and senior outfielder Brooke Colledge (Everett, PA/Everett) were each voted to the first team of the All-AMCC squad, while freshman shortstop Karli Storm (Chest Springs, PA/Cambria Heights) and senior outfielder Madison Lucas (Philipsburg, PA/Philipsburg-Osceola) took second-team honors and sophomore first baseman Gianna Hoppel (Lewistown, PA/Mifflin County) was named to the third team, along with Fisher.
