Beech Creek man sentenced to four to nine years for meth sales
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Clinton County Judge Michael F. Salisbury on Tuesday sentenced a Beech Creek man earlier convicted of three counts of possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance to up to nine years in state prison.
Kyle James St. Clair, 117 Main Street, Beech Creek, had been convicted following a jury trial on March 31. The jury concluded that St. Clair had sold methamphetamine and prescription medication to a confidential informant on three separate occasions in 2022. St. Clair was arrested after a long term investigation conducted by the Clinton County Drug Task Force, with Pine Creek Township Police Sgt. Denny Gill as the arresting officer. The Commonwealth was represented at trial by Assistant District Attorney Edward Ferguson.
At trial, Ferguson offered testimony from a confidential informant and four members of law enforcement. The evidence outlined three distinct events where St. Clair sold controlled substances to the confidential informant.
The first occurred at the Lucky 7 truck stop in mid-February of 2022 where St. Clair sold buprenorphine (Subutex). The next two drug deliveries occurred shortly after in late February and early March 2022 at a residence in Beech Creek where St. Clair twice sold methamphetamine to the confidential informant.
St. Clair testified in his own defense claiming it wasn’t him. When questioned how the confidential informant three times went to St. Clair with cash and no drugs, but came back to law enforcement with no cash and drugs, St. Clair had no explanation.
