Work-from-Home pilot project at Clinton County Children & Youth

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Clinton County’s Children and Youth Services has instituted that county department’s first-ever work from home program. The one-day-a-week opportunity for department employees was outlined Monday at the county commissioners’ work session.

Department deputy director Tristan Rock said a 90-day pilot program began in mid-March and will run into June. Department employees can select either Tuesday or Thursday of each week to do their job from home. The deputy director said the program will be monitored so that “everything is being taken care of” in terms of department operations.

Department head Bower said the stay-at-home option should benefit the department in the recruitment and retention of employees. She noted an increased turnover in office staff in the last year and expressed hope the pilot program will help end that trend; the goal increased productivity with less interruptions that occur in an office environment.

She said employees can carry out required training while at home and so far, the department has seen “increased happiness,” noting that the pilot project should “help with stress levels.”

Commissioner Angela Harding offered her support for the stay-at-home opportunity, calling it “a fantastic pilot program.”
