Bucktail softball pounds out 22 hits in 22-2 victory over Sullivan County

LAPORTE, PA- For the second time in as many games Bucktail would pound out 22 hits on their way to a 22-2 cross divisional conference Friday victory over Sullivan County.

Mak and Kendall Wagner would both hit home runs and eight Lady Bucks would collect hits in a huge conference and district win.

Bucktail took a 10-0 lead into the top of the fourth inning and would explode to put the game out of reach on a 12-run fourth inning. The Lady Griffins would score twice in their half of the inning, but it wouldn’t be enough to extend the game.

Mak Wagner went 4 for 4 with a double and the home run. She also had 5 RBI’s. Lola English had a hot bat for Bucktail as well. English also went 4 for 4 with a double and 4 RBI’s. Eva Sockman collected 4 hits too for the Lady Bucks, including a double.  Makenna Stone and Kayla Probert each collected doubles and three hits each. Kendall Wagner and Matti Mason each had a pair of hits. Kendall Wagner added 5 RBI’s. Haley Burrows added a single to round out the Bucktail hitting.

Mak Wagner went three innings in the circle, striking out four batters and allowing just one hit. Makenna Stone pitched one inning in relief.

Now 5-2, Bucktail may face their toughest test of the season when they meet 4A Jersey Shore on the road Monday. The Lady Bulldogs knocked off 1A state favorites Tri-Valley 5-2 Friday afternoon and have a 5-4 record. Bucktail is now 5-2 on the season.

Sullivan County has now lost ourf straight games since beginning the season 4-0 and are now 4-4.
