Lady Bucks keep things rolling with 14-1 win at Neumann

WILLIAMSPORT, PA- Head coach Mike Poorman’s Lady Bucks continued to keep things rolling on Wednesday in Williamsport against St. John Neumann. Bucktail would score 13 runs in their first two at bats and cruise to a 14-1 Mid Penn Conference victory over the Lady Knights.

Neumann countered a Bucktail 7-run top of the first inning with a run from Gigi Parlante, but it would be the only score for the host Knights. Bucktail would plate six runs in the second inning and add one more in the fifth inning to see their record improve to 3-2 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.

The loss dropped Neumann to 1-3 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

Parlante led the Knights with a first inning single and the run scored. Lizzy Weller and Lily Reid also collected hits for St. John Neumann.

Bucktail pitchers Eva Sockman, Makenna Stone and Mak Wagner held Neumann to just three hits on the day. Sockman picked up the win, while Parlante took the loss for the Lady Knights.

Mak Wagner and Kendall Wagner led Bucktail at the plate. The two sisters each collected two hits on the afternoon. Haley Burrows had a hit, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI’s. Eva Sockman collected a hit and 2 RBI’s. Lily Francis had a triple and an RBI and senior Kayla Probert had a single and an RBI in the victory.

 

Bucktail’s Friday contest with perennial state power Dubois Central Catholic (7-0) has been postponed. No makeup date with the Lady Cardinals has been officially set. The Lady Bucks’ next contest is a home game against Mid Penn cross-divisional foe Northwest (3-3) at 1pm in Farwell on Saturday.
