Lady Wildcats down Shik, 4-1
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – Central Mountain senior pitcher Allison Lininger notched her first win of the season with a 4-1 victory over the visitors from Shikellamy on Tuesday. Lininger pitched the complete 7-inning game allowing only one run on five hits, recording eight strike outs and issuing only one walk.
Shikellamy scored their lone run on back-to-back base hits in the top of the first inning. They were never able to string together any hits in any inning after the first.
Katelyn Bowman and Kelsey Burrows led the way at the plate with Bowman going 2 for 4 and driving in a run while Burrows was 2 for 3 and also drove in a run. Sophie Mitchell, Gracie Saar and Taylor Wahlers had one hit each on the evening.
Central Mountain, now 3-2, will next face Danville (2-3) in an away game on Thursday. Shik fell to 3-3 with the loss.
