Mifflin County man sentenced to state prison for Mill Hall burglary
LOCK HAVEN, – Daniel Elroy Powell, 48, was sentenced Tuesday to a maximum sentence of 84 months in state prison for an Aug. 2022 burglary he committed at Peters Marine in Mill Hall.
The sentence was imposed by Clinton County President Judge Craig P. Miller, who made Powell eligible for parole after 12 months.
Mill Hall Borough Police Chief Brandon Coleman filed the charges against Powell after he was discovered at Peters Marine around 7 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2022. Powell had entered a storage building owned by the business and attempted to steal a motorcycle, but was unable to get it running. While there, Powell also caused over $3,000 in damage to other vehicles and equipment owned by Peters Marine.
As part of his sentence, Powell was also ordered to pay restitution to the victim.
Authorities said Powell has an extensive criminal history primarily from Mifflin County, and had most recently been residing in the Marsh Creek area of Centre County when he was arrested.
