Blair E. Barnhart

Obituary

Blair E. Barnhart, 94, of Flemington, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.

Born May 4, 1958 in Curtin, he was the youngest of fifteen children to the late Harvey H. and Mary E. Boob Barnhart. 

Blair was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard Merchant Marines, serving during WWII.

He was married to the former Phyllis A. Fravel for 69 years until her passing on September 13, 2019.

Blair was employed at Hammermill Paper Company until his retirement.

Along with his wife Phyllis, Blair loved traveling the country and vacationing at the beach with his family where he especially enjoyed fishing and going for walks on the beach. He was an avid gardener and would often be found tending to his large vegetable and fruit garden. Phyllis and Blair took part in square and round dancing over the years and were both fond of the time they spent together on their swing in their backyard overlooking the local mountains, especially during sunset. They also adored their many loving cats and dogs.

Blair is survived by two daughters, Patricia Barnhart and Susan Barnhart (Robert) Brostrom, both of Warrington; a granddaughter, Catherine Brostrom (Nicholas) Terramani; and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Terramani. 

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
