Central Mountain’s Caprio named state assistant wrestling coach of the year
HERSHEY, PA – Central Mountain High School assistant wresting coach Dylan Caprio was honored Saturday, named by the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association as the Pennsylvania Assistant Wrestling Coach of the Year.
Caprio, a Central Mountain and Lock Haven University graduate, had directed the Wildcat junior high program for several years before recently replacing the retired Doug Buckwalter as the varsity program’s lead assistant.
A Central Mountain faculty member, Caprio was a two-time PIAA qualifier and a District 6 champion during his wrestling career.
The Caprio recognition came at the PIAA wrestling championships at the Giant Center in Hershey. The Wildcat wrestling program has continued as one of the top programs in the state during Caprio’s time as a coach.
