Russo announces county commissioner candidacy
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Retired Lock Haven business owner James “Jim” Russo has announced he will be a candidate for a Republican nomination for Clinton County Commissioner in the May primary election.
In his candidacy announcement, Russo said, “Since selling my contracting business in 2020, I have more time to devote to this wonderful community and want to give back what this community has given me. God bless all Veterans, past and present.”
A life-long Clinton County resident, Russo started M & R Contracting in 1987, a general contracting firm that grew to 28 employees at the time of his sale to family members several years ago.
In addition to his business experience, Russo was an Allison Township Supervisor and is presently an operating board member with the Clinton County Economic Partnership where he also has served as board chairman.
Other community agencies on which the candidate currently serves include Wayne Township Landfill board, Lock Haven Redevelopment Authority board, Chestnut Grove Recreation Authority, Lock Haven JAMS Festival Logistic Committee, Harger Utility Charities and the Committee for the National Wild Turkey Foundation. He is a past member of the Lock Haven YMCA board, the Clinton County Sewer Authority board and the Goulden Touch Foundation.
Social memberships include the Sons of Italy, Loyal Order of Moose, Lock Haven Elks, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the 40/8.
Russo and his wife Sheila have been married for 40 years and have two daughters, Carley and Crstina and two grandchildren, Lucas and Jack.
