Wednesday winter weather advisory for Clinton County

STATE COLLEGE, PA – The National Weather Service has put a winter weather advisory into effect for Clinton County, effective hours Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Precipitation is to begin as snow and change to rain and freezing rain in early afternoon, precipitation to end early Wednesday night.

The forecast prompted the Keystone Central School District to convert Wednesday to a remote learning day.

WHAT…Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of up to one half inch and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch.

WHERE…Portions of central Pennsylvania. Maximum snow and ice accumulations in the higher elevations north of Interstate 80.

WHEN…From 8 AM this morning to 3 PM EST this afternoon.

IMPACTS…Locally hazardous travel and slippery conditions especially on bridges, overpasses, and untreated secondary roads.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Wintry mix will turn to rain during the afternoon.
