Phoenix advances three to District 4 tourney
CATAWISSA, PA – The Sugar Valley Rural Charter School wrestling team continued to add to its accomplishments on Saturday, claiming the program’s first ever sectional tourney finalists, two of them in fact in Cameron Quick and Kyle Stahl; in all three Phoenix team members qualified for the Feb. 24-25 District 4 AA championships at Williamsport High School. Levi Galentine earned his berth with a fourth place finish.
Quick at 139 pounds and Stahl at 215 came in as the number two seeds in the sectionals held at Southern Columbia High School. Both reached their seeds, recording falls in the semifinals before losing their title bouts. Galentine at 285 pounds exceeded his fifth seed to earn his fourth-place finish, falling 6-3 in the third-place bout.
Sugar Valley finished in ninth place at the tourney, just behind eighth place Mifflinburg. Host Southern Columbia took the title, followed by Line Mountain and Midd-West.
