Kids can get free new shoes, boots Feb. 18

LOCK HAVEN — Volunteers Jeanne Baker, left, and Kyra Small are seen in the photo as they pair up new socks for Saturday, Feb. 18th. That’s when the Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank will give free new shoes, socks, and winter boots to eligible kids and teens.

With them are the largest and smallest pairs of shoes available, plus just a few of the books offered free to the young clients.

The Shoe Bank is inside Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St.

Children and teens (up to age 18 or if still a high school student) are eligible if their family has an active Compass app or summary sheet and lives in Clinton County or the Liberty-Curtin Elementary School area. Families who don’t have Compass may be referred by an agency.

To book your time slot, call or text Diahann at 814-571-5324 (Monday-Friday 7-9 p.m.). Please state if you are new to the program, how many boys and girls are coming, and if there are any special requests or needs. If you are ill, please call to reschedule. And please let Diahann know if you need to cancel for any reason, since she keeps a waiting list.

Masks are required when you visit.

The Shoe Bank relies solely on grants and donations, including support from the Clinton County Community Foundation.
