By Bees O’Brien
FARWELL, PA- Maybe the Lady Bucks were focused on Thursday night’s “Pink Out” game against Galeton, or maybe the Muncy Lady Indians refused to miss a basket. The second part felt more like the truth in the Mid Penn Conference contest between the two squads on Wednesday night at Bucktail.
Muncy scored at will in the first half. A 14-1 advantage powered by some hot shooting quickly set the tone for the rest of the contest.
Muncy, title contenders in the upcoming District 4 2A tournament would continue to build their lead on Bucktail in the second quarter. Avery Bigelow would score 11 second quarter points, while the Lady Bucks as a team managed just 4 total second quarter points. A 19-4 advantage built the visiting Lady Indians lead to 33-5 at the break.
A 16-8 second half advantage from Muncy would set the final at 49-17.
Avery Bigelow would lead all scorers with 13 points for Muncy, who now sit at number 4 in the current 2A standings with a 12-7 overall record.
Matti Mason led Bucktail with 7 points. Lily Francis added 4 points. Bella English, Dezlyn Halpate each netted 2 points. Lola English and Kayla Probert scored 1 apiece to round out the Bucktail scoring.
Bucktail, now 8-11 will be back in action against Galeton (0-21) Thursday night during the “Pink Out” night.
