Lady Wildcats down Highlanders from Cambria Heights, 48-39
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – As the season heads towards its home stretch, the Central Mountain girls’ basketball continues to pick up more wins. The Lady Wildcats took their second in a row, and four of five, with a Wednesday night home court win over Cambria Heights, 48-39.
The win moved Central Mountain to 7-12 on the season while the Highlanders from Patton fell to 4-16.
CM jumped to an 11-4 lead after one period and was able to maintain the lead throughout, up 20-12 at the half and 32-19 after three.
Coach Scott Bakers team put three players in double figures, led by Kiahna Jones with 17 and 12 each from the Doyle twins, Taylor and Ava; Taylor Doyle was 6-of-7 from the foul line as the team went 10-for-15 from the charity stripe. Other CM scorers were Macy Plowman with 5 and Danica Kelly with 2. Sienna Kirsch led Cambria Heights with 22.
The Lady Wildcats will be on the road Friday, at Lewisburg (14-7).
