CMMS’s Sneath named Jostens Renaissance National Student of the Month
MILL HALL, PA – Keystone Central School District is proud to announce that Autumn Sneath, Central Mountain Middle School 7th grade student, is the recipient of the Jostens Renaissance National Student of the Month Award for February 2023. The Jostens Renaissance National Student of the Month recognition is for a deserving student who has made an impact within their school or community through Jostens Renaissance.
Jostens Renaissance is a program that focuses on recognizing students and staff. The core of the program revolves around the six R’s: Respect, Reward, Recognize, and Reinforce with Relationships = Results. For 30 years, Jostens has partnered with educators to renew school climate and culture through the Jostens Renaissance program and philosophy. Thousands of schools across North America are proud to call themselves “Jostens Renaissance” schools, sharing a sense of pride that is reflected in the results seen in improved academic performance, behavior, student engagement, and overall school spirit. Renaissance provides conferences, workshops and resources to schools in order to build character in students and culture on school campuses.
According to a school district release, Autumn was selected based on her exceptional dedication and commitment to the values of CMMS and Jostens Renaissance. She has led the efforts to ensure that the climate and culture within the building is focused around the success of all students and staff. Autumn was nominated by CMMS teacher, Christina Onuskanich, who wrote, “Autumn is a 7th grade leadership student who is always willing to help make her school a better place. Throughout the year, Autumn has volunteered to host assemblies and special events. She assisted with our school’s fall sports pep rally, was the commentator for our Fun Friday volleyball matches, and was also the announcer for the Veterans Day Assembly. Autumn attended the Jostens Renaissance Leadership Conference this fall and has been working diligently to put her ideas into action. She is constantly asking her teachers what she can do to help them and then she gets the job done. She is always looking for ways to celebrate her peers and offer support to anyone who may need it. When a teacher was having a challenging week, Autumn took it upon herself to put together a self-care gift for the teacher. When a younger student was unsure about attending her first middle school dance, Autumn put together a special invitation and presented it to the student during homeroom. The smiles and giggles of excitement were exactly what her friend needed! Autumn’s kindness and selflessness along with her determination to further develop her leadership skills are what make her the perfect candidate for National Student of the Month!”
Autumn has one piece of advice for someone just starting with Renaissance, “One step at a time and take it slow. Pick one thing to do and tackle it well. Never give up!”
Autumn will be showcased in the Jostens Renaissance monthly national newsletter and on their website, www.jostensrenaissance.com and will also receive a lapel pin and a water bottle from Renaissance in recognition of her achievement.
