Wright announces bid for Mill Hall area District Judge

BEECH CREEK, PA – My name is Heidi Wright, formerly Heidi Shoemaker, and I reside in Beech Creek, PA with my husband, Timothy Wright, and three sons, Easton, Mason, and Benson. I am seeking nomination on both the Republican and Democratic tickets for Magisterial District Judge in Clinton County Magisterial District 25-3-02.

I am 31 years old and grew up in Beech Creek, PA. I have deep roots to this community dating back to 1898 when my Great Grandfather, Glenn S. Dickey of Beech Creek was born. I am the daughter of Scott Shoemaker and Holly Beaver and the sister of Seth Shoemaker. Maternal Granddaughter of Patricia Dickey and the late Vaughn Dickey. Paternal granddaughter of Sharon Shoemaker and the late Bing Shoemaker.

At the age of 8, I joined a local 4-H club and remained a member until the maximum age limit of 18. At a young age, I understood how to be responsible as well as accountable for my actions. Thanks to 4-H, I also learned many valuable life skills.

I graduated as an honors student from Central Mountain High School in 2009. While a student, I had the opportunity to travel internationally to Germany. I also played on the high school basketball and softball teams as well as a traveling softball team. I was also a team member of the 2009 Skills USA Health Knowledge Bowl State Champion Team.

After high school I attended Penn State University and graduated in 2013 with a B.S. in Health Policy and Administration. During my college years, I played softball at the collegiate level and was chosen for the Division 3 USA international softball team.

In 2014, my husband and I started our family. I was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom for nearly seven years. Those are the years I will cherish most for the rest of my life and I will never regret putting my career on hold to invest in my children’s future. In 2020 during the height of covid, I decided to enter the workforce to help the struggling healthcare system. Through the blood, sweat, and tears of the pandemic I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to serve the community that I love so much.

My community was so good to me growing up. Church, family, sports, 4-H, and school all played a part in building a strong foundation for my life, such as a strong work ethic, common sense and good morals, such as fairness, courage, respect, and honesty. As an adult, it is now my pleasure to give back to a community that gave so much to me. I attend Blanchard Church of Christ and work in the nursery and volunteer with the Kings Kids after school program. I coached Central Mountain Middle School softball from 2016-2019 and I’ve been a Little League baseball coach within the community since 2018. I also currently serve as a volunteer within the Keystone Central School District.

My roots run deep here. It’s no secret that I love my community and I want it to continue to be a great place for families to live. We’ve been very fortunate in this Magisterial District for many years to have District Judges like Dave Gilmore, Tom Bossert, and John Maggs. It would be an honor to be elected and to carry on the legacy of each and every one of them. Although I come from a law enforcement family, it’s plain to see that I don’t have any personal law enforcement experience and I plan to use that to my advantage. If I am elected to be Magisterial District Judge, it will be very easy for me to be open minded, fair, impartial and without bias. The best part of who I am is being a Mom. I love raising my kids in this community and I want it to continue to be the best place possible to raise a family. If elected I will listen to every person that comes before me and provide unbiased rulings based on the application of the law while using common sense and fairness. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve the community I grew up in.
