Obituary

Joan “Jo Ann” Grenninger, 85, of Flemington, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at UPMC Haven Place, Lock Haven.

Born April 16, 1937 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Olive Carson Eichenlaub.

Jo Ann was a 1955 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

On February 11, 1956 at the East Main Street United Methodist Church, Lock Haven, she married James G. Grenninger, who survives.

Jo Ann was a member of the Flemington First Church of Christ.

She was an avid bowler well into her later years of life and enjoyed reading. Most of all, she adored the time she spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She was blessed to watch many of her grandchildren through their childhoods and was always a loyal fan of their sporting events.

In addition to her husband, Jim, she is survived by three children, James (Candy) Grenninger, Jr. of Karns City, Gaylene (Wayne) Sweeley of Mill Hall, and Daniel (Gessica) Grenninger of Lock Haven; a brother, Ray (Irene) Eichenlaub of Georgia; a sister, Mary Lou Young of Lock Haven; seven grandchildren: Jason (Ashley) and Jarrett (Kellyn) Sweeley and Brittni, Joshua (Erica Enders), Noah, Jaclyn and Kevin Grenninger; two great grandchildren: Ashton and Shayleigh Sweeley; and one great grandchild expected.

In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by five siblings: Grace Probst, Helen Hazel and Charles, Jr., Eugene and Harry Eichenlaub; and her half-brother, Arthur Anstandt.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11 A.M. at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Mill Hall, PA 17751 with Rev. Mark Riley officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the church on Saturday from 9 A.M. until the start of the service.
