Obituary

Ronald Charles Newberry, 74, of Woolrich, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

Born February 18, 1948 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Albert F. And Bertha Killinger Newberry.

Following his graduation from Lock Haven High School in 1967, Ron enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving from 1967 to 1971 when he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.

Upon returning from service in 1971, Ron began his career in the automotive industry, where he remained throughout his working years.

He was a longtime member of the Jersey Shore Masonic Lodge.

Ron enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, boating and fishing with his family and was an avid gardener. He was a passionate sports fan of all Philadelphia teams and was fond of old western television shows. Ron also had a special place in his heart for his four-legged friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, the former Darlene K. Brungard of Woolrich; his daughter, Bethann R. (Brad) Aurand of Mifflinburg; his son, R. Matthew (Crystal) Newberry of Mill Hall; four sisters, Ellen Long of Lock Haven, Barbara Kramer of Mill Hall, Patty Steyers of Lock Haven and Arlene Gunning of Lock Haven; and his brother, Albert Newberry of North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings: Anna June Beam, Loretta Elizabeth Brungard and John Clarence Newberry.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 10 A.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

Friends and family will be received for a time of viewing at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
