Penn Manor pulls away from CM girls, 53-36

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – It was a familiar refrain at the Central Mountain gym Thursday night. The Lady Wildcat basketball team kept it close for a while but visiting Penn Manor pulled away to notch a 53-36 win.

The visitors from Clymer, PA led 14-10 after one and 26-18 at halftime and slowly increased the margin in the second half to pick up the win and move to 11-5 on the season. For the Lady Wildcats it was loss number seven in a row, falling to 3-10 overall.

The Doyle girls, sophomore twins, paced CM, Taylor with 16 points and Ava with 9. Together they scored all three Lady ‘Cat 3-pointers, Taylor with two of them. Other scorers were Keely Rohrbach with 5, Kiahna Jones 4 and Macy Plowman with 2.

CM did total 28 rebounds, led by Jones’ 7, but the team turned the ball over 20 times.

Central Mountain will be back home Saturday, hosting Shikellamy (5-9).
