Obituary

Paula Ann Aungst, 79, of Lock Haven, passed away, Thursday, January 5, 2023 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.

Born December 30, 1943 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Floyd “Alvie” Miller and Helen L. Packer (Harrison “Beanie”) Shadle.

After obtaining her GED in the early 90’s, Paula attended the Pennsylvania College of Technology, graduating with her Registered Nursing degree.

She worked as an RN at Jersey Shore Hospital for many years before going to work for Eckert Plastic Surgery of Williamsport until her retirement.

Paula was a member of Avis United Methodist Church and a social member of the Avis American Legion.

She loved camping, and spent the majority of her time camping at Bit-of-Heaven Campground. She was a music enthusiast, enjoyed dancing and attending bluegrass festivals, especially her trips to the Jamboree in the Hills music festival in West Virginia. Paula also adored her grandchildren and was a loyal fan of their sporting events.

She is survived by three children, Bob L. Aungst, Jr. of Lock Haven, Tammy Aungst-Simmons of Jersey Shore and Ron L. (Michelle) Aungst of Lock Haven; a sister-in-law, Christine Miller of McElhattan; four grandchildren, Brittini Aungst of Jersey Shore, Bryant Vannoy of South Carolina, Kayla Aungst of West Virginia and Nicholas Aungst of Lock Haven; three great-grandchildren, Rylan Maines and Brycen and Jaylynn Stringfellow; her loving dog and best friend, Rockey; and her grand-dog, Oakley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Miller.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Pastor Brian Moyer officiating.

Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the start of the service.
