Snyder seeks re-election as Clinton County Commissioner
WOOLRICH, PA – Clinton County Commissioner Jeff Snyder has announced that he is seeking the Republican nomination for re-election in the May 2023 primary election.
“I am seeking re-election for Clinton County Commissioner to help ensure that Clinton County will continue to be a safe and profitable place to live, work, raise a family and retire. As a homeowner, parent, grandparent, and citizen of Clinton County since 1962, I am dedicated to the residents and workings of Clinton County. My “Open Door Policy” will insure that the citizens of Clinton County will continue to have their voices heard. My experience as a Clinton County Commissioner, along with my knowledge of finance, county and state-wide contacts, and networking skills will enable me to continue to be an effective and positive driving force for our county,” Snyder said.
Snyder is chair of the Clinton County Building and Grounds Committee and Vice-Chair of the Clinton County Commissioners. He also serves on a number of boards and authorities: Aging Advisory Council, Children & Youth Liaison, Court Security Advisory Board, S.T.E.P., Safety Committee, SEDA-COG, Tourist Promotion Agency, Local Emergency Planning Committee, Advocates for a Drug Free Tomorrow, Board of Assessment Appeals, Election Board, Joinder Board, Prison Board, Renovo Community Trade Association, SEDA-COG Gas Cooperative, PA State Land Tax Fairness Coalition, Fireman’s Association, Revolving Loan Board, Clinton County Justice Advisory Board, Re-Entry Housing Planning Committee, and the Victims of Crime Act Funding Committee.
In 2020, Snyder served as President of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP). In 2023, he will serve on the following CCAP committees: Strategic Planning Committee, Resolutions & Policy Committee, Personnel Committee, Governance Committee, and the Human Services Committee.
Pennsylvania Economic Development honored Snyder in 2021 for his dedication and commitment to strengthen and serve his community. He was the recipient of the 25th Annual Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence in 2021.
He is a member of the Lock Haven Elks Lodge #182, La Fayette Lodge #0199, a life member of the Woolrich Volunteer Fire Company, St., Luke’s United Church of Christ in Flemington, serving as Finance Chairman, and the Lock Haven Kiwanis Cub, serving as club president in 2019.
Snyder has been a resident of Clinton County since 1962. He graduated from the Lock Haven High School in 1974 and from Lock Haven University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He previously owned and operated the Chatham Run Feed Mill for 33 years and served on the Keystone Central School Board for 20 years.
Snyder resides in Woolrich with his wife, Toni, a retired elementary schoolteacher. They are the parents of two adult children and have four grandchildren.
