Margaret Ann Mogish, “Maggie”

Obituary

Margaret Ann Mogish, “Maggie” our beloved, mother, BeBe and great BeBe passed away on Dec 18th at her home in Mill Hall surrounded by her loving family. Maggie was born on July 10th, 1939, to the late Albert and Margaret Kershetsky in Delano, PA. The small community of Delano is where she and her sisters grew up, where she met her childhood sweetheart, Charles “Junie” Mogish and where on April 30th, 1959, she married the love of her life. Margaret & Charlie shared 59 married years. They dreamed of raising a family together long before they married. Maggie was a devoted mother to four daughters: Michele (Rick) Terry, Trace (Walt) Bilski, Rebecca Myers, Heather Ake and family member of the heart Timmie Ann Lancaster of Rawlings, Md.

“Bebe” was the proud and nurturing grandmother to 15 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren and an adored Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Maggie and her daughters are overwhelmingly grateful for their loving & gracious “Caregiving Family” because of their kind and constant care it was possible for her to remain in her home. She is survived by her loving sisters, Sharon Bernardyn of Harleysville, Pa. Dottie (Jon) Pichelman, Limerick, Pa, and sister-in-law Rita Suchanick (Myron)of Fairpoint NY.

Maggie and Charlie moved their family to Mill Hall in 1970 and they made their home a place they were happy to share and welcomed extended family and friends to celebrate or to retreat. For a few years, Charlie & Maggie were grateful to spend the winters in Florida. Maggie took this as an opportunity to happily pamper and dote on those visiting. She was a benevolent and compassionate friend to many. She was an intuitive, progressive, deep thinker who enjoyed honest open conversation.

She was a faithful woman and a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Lock Haven. Maggie was an associate of the Dominican of Sinsinawa. She and Charlie often enjoyed hosting the Dominican Sisters and associates at their home, many became very dear friends and cherished mentors, those times became the fondest of memories for the entire family.

Maggie took pride in being a volunteer for Hospice early in its inception. She explored, studied, and practiced holistic modalities to promote health and wellbeing for herself and others. She encouraged and inspired the young people in her life to be soul seeking, resilient and thoughtful. She advocated for women to be independent, strong, and open minded. She was wise, quick witted and honest. Maggie aspired to “Be the light” in this world. She truly wanted the people she knew and loved to live their most authentic and best lives. She invited us to wrap ourselves in the light of love and protection as we walked through our days and nights on this earth.

A “Celebration of Maggie’s Life” will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from noon to 3 P.M. at her home, 102 Mogish Lane, Mill Hall, PA 17751.
