LHU: Front-running pack powers Women’s Cross Country to third-place finish at PSAC Championship
MANSFIELD, PA – A trio of Bald Eagles cracked the top-10, and in all, four Lock Haven University women’s cross country runners ran to All-Conference status today at the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship, hosted by Mansfield University at the Lamb’s Creek Recreation Area Course in Tioga County.
The dynamic front-running pack powered Lock Haven to a third-place finish in the team standings.
Gwen Lloyd (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion (Towson Univ.)), Krista Jones (Friendsville, Pa./Elk Lake), and Elaina Klinger (Danville, Pa./Danville) broke into the top-10 with sensational finishes of eighth (22:37.7), ninth (22:43.8) and 10th (22:48.2), respectively.
All three earned All-Conference status and the Bald Eagles made history as today marked the first time in PSAC Championship history where The Haven women had four different runners run to All-Conference (top-30) honors.
Billie Jo Bollinger (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) helped make that Haven history, thanks to her 30th-place and All-Conference finish. She covered the 6K course in 23:59.2, and placed 30th out of 165 total runners.
Aubrey Sechrist (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) rounded out Lock Haven’s top-five today with a run of 24:22.2 (41st) and Kiersten Lloyd (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) was 46th (24:28.2).

For Lock Haven, the 2022 postseason run will continue on Saturday, Nov. 19 when the Bald Eagles return to Mansfield for the 2022 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championship meet. Last season, Lock Haven finished fifth at regional meet behind a pair of All-Region performances.
