Domestic Violence Awareness Month proclaimed in Clinton County

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Clinton County Commissioners on Thursday proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Cheyenne Brickley, Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Prevention Education and Volunteer Coordinator with Roads to Peace, spoke of the organization’s efforts in Clinton County.

She said the organization will be holding its “Remember My Name: Candlelight Vigil” Friday at 7 p.m. at Triangle Park in Lock Haven. The event, to which the public is invited, will include displays and music, poetry reading, information on those lost to domestic violence, a guest speaker at an open mic session and a coffee and hot chocolate social.:

The county proclamation said during the 2021-2022 fiscal year, Roads to Peace, formerly the Clinton County Women’s Center, served 413 men, women, and their dependent children, and 20 self-identifying LGBTQ+ people, providing 1,149 hours of counseling, advocacy, and support to victims of domestic violence.
