Gould Out with Injury

cb-logoCHICAGO — Bears placekicker Robbie Gould was inactive for Chicago’s home game with Dallas Thursday night, sidelined with a quad injury which cropped up prior to practice on Tuesday of this week.

Because of the injury the Bears signed veteran Jay Feely to fill-in against the Cowboys.

For Gould it was only the fourth game he has missed since joining Chicago in 2005. The Central Mountain/Penn State grad missed the final three games of the 2012 season the result of a calf injury.

Prior to the start of this season Gould had agreed to a contract extension that made him the richest in NFL kicking history.

The Bears and Gould announced the four-year extension last December. Reports at the time said it would amount to $15 million with $9 million of that money guaranteed.

Gould is already the most accurate kicker in Bear franchise history and was number three in NFL history going into this season with his 86 percent completion rate.
