Fallon Hotel operators plan “soft opening” for new restaurant on Friday
LOCK HAVEN, PA – While most of the Fallon Hotel exterior remains encased in construction fencing, business operators have posted word that a new restaurant will be opening inside on Friday of this week.
According to the post on the Fallon House facebook page:
Join us this Friday July 22, 2022 at 6pm to 10pm. As we celebrate the soft opening our new restaurant “Est.1856”
The opening will be a major step forward for the current owners who assumed title to the pre-Civil War-era property better than three years ago. At this point it is understood only a portion of the building’s first floor will be opening to the public.
The opening comes after the owners had to complete required repairs to get a City of Lock Haven go-ahead.
The city’s director of permits and licensing Cyndi Walker, provided The Record with an update:
The owner of the building and his contractor have been working with the city’s commercial third party inspection agency, Code Inspection, Inc. during the course of the renovation process. In speaking with the site inspector, James Fenstamacher, he is comfortable issuing a temporary Certificate of Occupancy for just the kitchen and rear bar area. This will be an area that will serve food only, no alcoholic beverages will be served at this point in time.
Walker said the area has been inspected by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and has been issued the appropriate paperwork for approval and licensing; that paperwork has been provided to the city as well. She said it is the intent of the owner of the building to only operate on weekends for the time being, until all repairs/renovations have been completed. “Therefore any issues regarding construction compliance, ADA compliance and compliance to state health codes have been inspected and approved.”
