Obituary

Alvin J. “Jim” Brookens, 72, of Lock Haven passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Harrisburg.

Born March 2, 1950 at Stouts Hill near Renovo he was a son of the late Alvin N. and Lucille C. (Lucas) Brookens.

Jim worked as a welder for the Renovo Railyards. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman and enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling.

While living in Renovo he was a volunteer for the Renovo Fire Dept. and the EMS.

In his younger years he dedicated his life for caring for his mother.

He is survived by a brother Anson Brookens of Lock Haven and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a three sisters Shirley Olmstead, Dianne Bilbay and Sandra K, Ropiza and three brothers; Raymond, Gary and Ronald Brookens.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with the Rev. Dennis A. Smith of Shinntown officiating.

A viewing for family and friends will be held one-hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
