One killed in Monday evening I-80 crash near Loganton Exit
LOGANTON, PA — State police have released additional information on a five-vehicle pileup that resulted in the death of a New York man on Interstate 80 near the Loganton Exit Monday evening.
Clinton County Coroner Zach Hanna identified the victim as Mirzod Ayuboy, 55, from Brooklyn. The coroner said an autopsy will be conducted Wednesday at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
State police are now reporting that Ayuboy was a passenger in a tractor-trailer believed to have been responsible for the chain-reaction accident in the westbound lanes. Police said the driver of that rig was taken to a hospital for treatment but no additional information was available.
Police said the crash occurred near a construction zone and the rig Ayuboy was in ran into the rear of another tractor-trailer which had slowed. A 55-passenger bus was also involved in the mishap and authorities are now saying there were no injuries for its occupants.
