County renews pitch for 911 dispatchers

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The turnover continues in Clinton County’s 911 dispatch center and county officials have renewed their push to attracted new dispatchers.

The county commissioners held a combined work/voting session on Monday and their agenda included news that one dispatcher has resigned, effective July 1 and two new trainees came on board effective Monday of this week. The commissioners also approved the promotion of Shane Barrett from dispatcher to shift supervisor.

Emergency Services Director Andrew Kremser said there are presently four vacancies at the dispatch center and plans are in the works for an open house at the Flemington facility as part of the effort to bring new dispatchers on board.

Training pay is $16.61 an hour, increasing to $17.88 per hour upon completion of training, Kremser said. Prospective hires must be at least 18 years of age.
