BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Keystone Central Career and Technology Center recently hosted its first Work Experience Banquet since the program was revitalized in 2019. Local employers that hosted work experience students for the 2021-2022 school year gathered to enjoy a meal with students and parents and were recognized for their support with the program. The meal was catered by Stella A’s and desserts were prepared by The Dutch Haven Restaurant and students from the Culinary Arts program at Keystone Central Career and Technology Center.

The Diversified Occupations and Capstone Cooperative Education work experience programs had a total of 35 student participants this school year. These work experiences are paid opportunities for students that have met the requirements to participate in the programs. The programs offer students a chance to explore their career interests, hone their employability skills, gain new skill sets, earn certifications, and build their resumes.

The KCSD work experience program currently has 70 partnerships with employers from Centre, Clinton, and Lycoming Counties. According to a school district release, these partnerships are a vital link in the community that offer real world experiences to high school students. Not only do employers get the opportunity to capture skilled employees before high school graduation, but students also have the opportunity to secure employment after graduation. It’s a win, win for everyone.
