Renovo Borough Mayor proclaims Emergency Medical Services Week

RENOVO BOROUGH, PA – The Renovo Borough Mayor Gene Bruno has designated the week of May 16-22 as Emergency Medical Services Week.  The Mayor and Council would like to honor and express thanks to the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) teams that provide lifesaving care 24 hours a day, seven days a week to those in need and who work tirelessly and selflessly to serve their communities.  They also encourage the community to thank and recognize the members of the Renovo EMS team for their dedication and care to the Renovo Borough and surrounding communities.  In addition, they would like to thank Kettle Creek Ambulance, Goodwill Hose Co. Ambulance and Lock Haven Ambulance who provide assistance and additional resources when needed.

EMS Week Proclamation

To designate the Week of May 16-22, 2022, as Emergency Medical Services Week 

WHEREAS, emergency medical services is a vital public service; and 

WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams are ready to provide lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and 

WHEREAS, access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury; and 

WHEREAS, emergency medical services has grown to fill a gap by providing important, out of hospital care, including preventative medicine, follow-up care, and access to telemedicine; and 

WHEREAS, the emergency medical services system consists of emergency medical responders, emergency medical technicians, advanced emergency medical technicians, paramedics, prehospital registered nurses, prehospital physician extenders, prehospital EMS physicians, emergency medical dispatchers, firefighters, police officers, educators, administrators, emergency department personnel, trained members of the public, and other out-of-hospital medical care providers; and 

WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams, whether career or volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills; and 

WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the value and the accomplishments of emergency medical services providers by designating Emergency Medical Services Week; now 

THEREFORE, I Mayor Gene Bruno of Renovo, Pennsylvania in recognition of this event do hereby proclaim the week of May 16-22, 2022 as 

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WEEK 

With the theme, EMS Week: Rising to the Challenge, I encourage the community to observe this week with appropriate programs, ceremonies and activities.
