BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Keystone Central School Board’s newest member brings a broad record of professional experience and community service to his new post.

The school board Thursday evening selected David Dietrich of 142 N. Fairview Street, Lock Haven as the board replacement for Randy Strouse who resigned as Region VI representative earlier this month as Strouse is moving from the district.

Dietrich was the lone applicant to fill the vacancy and was unanimously approved by the sitting board members at its special meeting. Dietrich is a North Huntingdon, PA native, a graduate of Norwin High School and holds BS and Masters degrees from Penn State; most recently he was a program manager with Curtiss-Wright, retiring in 2014. He said he came to Lock Haven as he likes the community and noted he has local roots; he is the grandson of the late Kermit and Edyth Deitrich from Mill Hall. He resides on N. Fairview St. with his wife Merry.

Since moving to Lock Haven, Dietrich serves on the Lock Haven planning commission and the city’s historic district committee. In his application letter, he wrote, “I would be extremely interested in in assisting the local community” as a board member.

Dietrich offered opening remarks on his decision to seek the Region VI seat then fielded some 12 questions for half an hour.

After the new board member was sworn in, the board approved Roger Elling as its new vice-president, a position previously held by Strouse.
