Two dead, Lock Haven woman badly injured in Route 64 Centre County fatal crash
WALKER TOWNSHIP, PA – Two people died and a Lock Haven woman was badly hurt in a Wednesday afternoon head-on crash on Route 64 (Nittany Valley Drive) in Walker Township, Centre County.
Rockview state police have not yet released the identification of those who died, pending notification of next of kin. The second driver was identified as Torra L. Cassel, 24, of Lock Haven. Police said she suffered suspected serious injury and she was transported to UPMC Altoona; a female passenger in her car lost her life. Police said the driver who lost his life was 71 years old and from Petersburg, PA.
Police said the vehicle driven by the Petersburg man was southbound on Route 64 when it began drifting into the northbound lane and struck the Cassel vehicle head on. Police said the driver of the southbound vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt and the passenger in the Cassel vehicle was improperly wearing hers; Cassel was reported wearing hers.
The accident was the third fatal crash on Route 64 in Walker Township in April.
