Wildcats Stover no-no’s Mifflinburg
MILL HALL, PA – It’s was 42 degrees at Mill Hall Community Park on Wednesday but Central Mountain starting pitcher Cru Stover was red hot, no-hitting visiting Mifflinburg as his Wildcat teammates continued their hot hitting; the end result was a 15-0, 4-inning win for CM. It was the second straight 15-0 win this week for Coach Mike Kramer’s team, downing Shamokin by the same score on Monday in a 3-inning game.
Stover went the distance, giving up no runs, no hits and striking out seven as his defense played errorless ball behind him.
The Wildcats scored early and often. In the 1st Inning, CM got their offense started when Cayde McCloskey tripled on a 3-2 count, driving in 2 runs. CM scored 5 runs in the 4th inning when Dallas Alexander, Nate Helms, Connor Foltz, Levi Schlesinger, and Cayden Culvey powered the big inning with RBI’s.
CM racked up 16 hits in the game. Gabe Johnson, Stover, Foltz, and Chase Brush each had multiple hits as again the Wildcats were able to work in multiple players into the contest..
Zack Wertman took the loss. He allowed 6 hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out one, and walking one.
Now 8-1, the Wildcats will be back in action Thursday at Jersey Shore (1-5). Mifflinburg fell to 2-5 with the loss.
