McELHATTAN, PA – 76th district Rep. Stephanie Borowicz on Tuesday formally announced she will seek a third term in Harrisburg. She is unopposed on the Republican ticket in the May 17 primary. Two Democrats, Denise Maris and Elijah Probst, are seeking the Democratic nomination to oppose her in November.

The formal Borowicz announcement:

McElhattan – Today, State Representative Stephanie Borowicz announced she is running for re-election in the 76th Legislative District of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives.
The newly created 76th Legislative District includes all of Clinton County and part of Union County consisting of the Townships of Buffalo, Hartley, Kelly, Lewis, Limestone and West Buffalo and the Boroughs of Hartleton, Lewisburg, Mifflinburg and New Berlin.

“It is my honor and privilege to be your State Representative. I consider myself a Patriot and not a politician,” said Rep. Borowicz. “I work for you, “We the People” knowing that freedom hangs in the balance. My priorities are priorities of freedom: freedom to raise a family without government intrusion; freedom to work your farms and businesses without burdensome regulations; freedom from the weight of government debt; freedom for those who have no voice; and freedom to keep your hard-working money in your own pockets.”

Rep. Borowicz continued by saying, “I go to Harrisburg with these principles in my mind, and I have created legislation or co-sponsored legislation with these convictions. I decline the state pension and per diems. I fought back against Governor Wolf’s unconstitutional mandates and massive tax increases. I have introduced the Heart-Beat Bill, the strongest pro-life legislation in Pennsylvania’s history, and the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, ensuring women can compete fairly. I passed pro-firearms legislation, and I also introduced legislation to get rid of the cost-of-living allowance for legislators. I co-sponsored legislation to reduce the corporate net income tax rate, and I voted out of committee the Tax-Payer Protection Act which reins in frivolous government spending. I also co-sponsored a lobbyist gift band and a term-limits bill.”

As a mother, former fourth-grade teacher, and pastor’s wife, Rep. Borowicz is also focused on providing real property tax reform, improving our education system to fully empower tomorrow’s workforce, and fighting crime and the opioid epidemic to improve public safety.

Rep. Borowicz ended by saying, “I am thankful that I can join with you to see all the wonderful things we can accomplish for the place that we call home. I am asking for your continued support and I would be honored to earn your vote.”
