Noyes Township government, faced with turnover, keeps trucking
NOYES TOWNSHIP, PA – You just about need a scorecard to track the turnover in Noyes Township government but one of the officials there says “business is moving as usual.”
The township, mostly west and south of Renovo, has lost a couple supervisors over the last half year or so and its longtime secretary treasurer recently retired.
The turnover process began last October when supervisor Dick Grennell resigned. But the sitting supervisors could not agree on a replacement and the matter went to Clinton County Court where interviews were held and the court selected Bucktail Medical Center administrator Tim Reeves as the new supervisor. He joined Kimberly Kelley who had been elected to a first term in November of last year, assuming office the first of this year, the third member incumbent Chuck Graw.
But the turnover continued when Graw submitted a letter of resignation early this month and the township secretary-treasurer Elizabeth “Fif” Kepler retired. Sheri Whipp was subsequently hired as Kepler’s replacement and is now on duty.
Supervisors Kelley and Reeves conducted the regular Noyes meeting on April 12 and conducted normal business. Supervisor Reeves later told The Record there had been seven applicants for the Grennell vacancy when Reeves was court appointed. He said with the six others still in the applicant pool, the two sitting supervisors look to fill the vacancy at their May meeting.
