COVID cases going up

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Friday reported 1,648 new cases of COVID-19, the highest one-day amount since Feb. 26; the state level of infections over the last week is up 42 percent.

The state reported 441 residents hospitalized, down 10 from Thursday. Those in intensive care units numbered 57, down four from the previous day.

Clinton County reported five new cases, the total at 9,045. Centre County increased by 19 for a total of 35,314 and Lycoming County reported 19 new cases for a total of 28,479

The state reported ten new deaths as the Clinton County figure remained at 124; the county number unchanged for well over a month.
