COVID cases surge in Pa.

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Tuesday reported 1,272 new cases of COVID-19. That is the highest one-day figure since February.

The state reported 432 residents hospitalized, up 21 from Monday, the biggest one-day jump since Jan. 14. Those in intensive care units numbered 59, down two from the previous day.

Clinton County reported two new cases, the total at 9,036. Centre County increased by 24 for a total of 35,245 and Lycoming County reported 19 new cases for a total of 28,446.

The state reported 17 new deaths as the Clinton County figure remained at 124; the county number unchanged for well over a month.
