INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA on Wednesday released the brackets and seeds for the 2022 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. The Lock Haven University wrestling team is sending half its lineup to the upcoming national tournament and now the five Bald Eagles know their first-round opponents.

Lock Haven is coming off a dominating effort at the 2022 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships. Behind nine placewinners and two individual champions the Bald Eagles powered their way to their first MAC title.

In all, the tremendous effort at the MAC tournament allowed LHU to come away with five individual national qualifiers: Anthony Noto (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima (NC State)), DaShawn Farber (Bethlehem, Pa./Nazareth), Ben Barton (Louisville, Ky./Trinity (Campbell)), Ashton Eyler (Millersburg, Ohio/Claymont (Iowa Central C.C.)) and Isaac Reid (Saltsburg, Pa./Kiski).

Noto, Farber, Eyler and Reid will all mark their NCAA Division I tournament debut in Detroit. Barton is now a three-time NCAA DI tournament qualifier.

The 2022 NCAA Division I wrestling championships will take place on March 17-19 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit as the event returns to Michigan for the first time since being held in Auburn Hills in 2007.
