Wagner captures PA Freestyle 16u State Championship

STATE COLLEGE- Central Mountain wrestler and Lady Buck softball star Kendall Wagner continued her big week on Friday by capturing the Pennsylvania Freestyle 16u State Championship in State College.
Wagner would go a perfect 3-0 on the day to earn the title and along with that will come a trip to Fargo, ND to compete in the national event held there on July 12-14. Wagner also was named to Team PA to compete in the National Freestyle Duals in Westfield, IN in June.
Wagner began her championship run with a Round 1 victory over Yasmina Ergashova of Mohawk by an 11-0 tech fall decision. In Round 2 Wagner would defeat Sierra Ripka with a fall at 3:32.
In the championship match, Wagner was victorious over Octavia Walker by forfeit to earn her state championship.
Wagner’s big week began with her Lady Bucks taking down Jersey Shore 8-2 on Monday. Wagner was the big star on that day with her two-run home run. The following day her and her teammates success continued with a sweep of Oswayo Valley to clinch the top seed in the upcoming District IV 1A playoffs, a seed that will send Bucktail directly to the district title game.
