Leo’s Pizzeria up and running in Lock Haven
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The city’s newest pizza shop, Leo’s Pizzeria, opened for business Friday at Main and Hanna Streets in Lock Haven and so far has met with nothing but rave reviews.
Owner Mark Mangiardi took a moment Sunday from twirling pizzas to tell therecord-online “the response has been crazy.” The doors opened Friday and so far, the Williamsport native and resident said, “it’s been smooth sailing.” He made a point to thank the community for its response.
Mangiardi currently operates the original Leo’s Pizzeria in Williamsport, a business he started two years ago after learning his craft at multiple pizza shops there. The expansion to a second shop in Lock Haven developed from something of a joke, a post on Facebook he said to determine what the response might be; based on the positive response from Lock Haven, he said, plans took off from there and the new shop was open and running in a matter of weeks.
Leo’s Pizzeria has developed a following in Williamsport for donating its product to school and community groups. Mangiardi said Leo’s will close its shop to the public for a day every couple months and feed organizations from schools to nursing homes. He said Leo’s will call ahead to let the organization know it is coming “to feed ‘em.”
Presently the Lock Haven shop is open Wednesday through Sunday, opening at 11 a.m. each day. The phone number is 570-360-0559. The owner said deliveries will soon be added.
