Darling and Dapper hosts Friday Grand Opening
LOCK HAVEN, PA – One of the city’s newest businesses, Darling and Dapper Children’s Boutique, looked mighty dapper for its ribbon-cutting Friday morning at its 228 E. Main Street location.
Co-owners Sue Kern and Kayla Graybill (mother and daughter), in brief comments before the ribbon was cut, traced the business growth from a dream to reality. Daughter Kayla Graybill said when the decision was made to expand from an online business to a storefront, they had given themselves a five-year timeline but, with help from family and friends, were able to accomplish that goal in one year. The business became the downtown’s newest retail store in late November of last year.
Mother Sue Kern said she grew up in Elizabethtown, a community with a vibrant downtown in Lancaster County. When she relocated to Clinton County in 2003, she said, the Lock Haven downtown was dead. She was quick to note the turn-around in recent years and said Darling and Dapper is happy to be part of that growth.
The two opened the storefront last year as an outgrowth of the online business from home started in the summer of 2020.
