Richard E. Johnson, 82, 537 Pennsylvania Ave. S. Renovo, PA died February 27, 2022 at the Bucktail Medical Center, S. Renovo, PA. Born May 1, 1939 in Renovo, PA he was the son of the late Carl and Edith Scott Johnson. On August 13, 1988 he married Patricia A. Read who survives at home. Richard was a 1958 graduate of the Renovo High School and had attended Williamsport Technical Institute.
Richard was a member of the Christian Community Church S. Renovo, PA which he faithfully attended. He had worked for 26 years for Pullman Power, and had also worked for 7 years at Southern Cross. Richard enjoyed traveling to Florida in his motorhome and visiting the family camp on Kettle Creek.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Kathy (Brent, Sr.) Townsend, Ocean View, DE., one sister, Shirley Perry, Dallas, TX, two grandchildren, Hannah and Brent Townsend, Jr., brother in-law & sister-in-law, Darlene and Ray Rathmell and family, Lock Haven, PA and sister-in-law & brother-in- law, Wendy and Dennis Corey and family, Williamsport, PA.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Kay (Rathmel) Johnson, one daughter, Karen Johnson, two sisters. Grace and Edith and one brother, Charles Johnson.
A memorial service honoring the life of Richard E. Johnson will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Christian Community Church, S. Renovo, PA with Pastor Richard Colvin officiating.
